DAMOS will monitor complex aspects of the drug situation in Central Asia as well as the development and implementation of sustainable drug policies, using the standardised methodologies developed by the Council of Europe and, in particular, EMCDDA, as increasingly adopted by UN organisations and other international bodies.
Key measures are:
- Institutionalised collection and analysis of drug-situation indicators in drug-demand and drug-supply fields, as well as the development of a sustainable drug information system, and the effective reporting to national and international bodies
- Networking of all key players in the field of data provision, and construction of sustainable contacts with EU institutions and its member states
Expected Results
- The practitioners’, decision makers’, governments' understanding of the actual drug situation in the countries has improved
- The structure, quality, validity and reliability of national data on drug situation in the countries has substantially improved and was made better compatible with EU- and other international standards and requirements
- Drug policy decisions by the governments have improved
