OCAN – Overall Coordination and Networking (Lead GIZ GmbH, Germany)

OCAN is responsible for the overall coordination of the project.
In order to ensure coherent strategies, a transnational exchange between Central Asian states and regional donor organisations in the field of drug policies and strategies has to be secured. Such measures include the evaluation of structures and mechanisms in drug policies and the networking of this programme with existent international and national measures implemented by WHO, UNODC, EU, Global Fund, NGOs etc.

Expected Results: 

• On the basis if the state-of-the-art assessment, the activities are identified and proposed in the inception report.
• Efficient supervisory and management structures – the SC and MC – are established and operational.
• The communication within and the implementation of the activities is smooth, coordinated, transparent and sustainable.
• Relevant national and international stakeholders have been identified, and cooperation mechanisms developed.
