MEDISSA – Media and Dissemination Strategies (Lead: National Bureau for Drug Prevention (KBPN), Poland)

MEDISSA is supporting national information and prevention campaigns against drug abuse, HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis. Key measures are:

• Development of target group specific information material and communication strategies for key groups such as journalists, teachers and local opinion leaders
• Support of local networks for the prevention of and education on drug consumption
• Support for central institutions in the battle against drug abuse

Expected Results

• The increase of drug users in specific settings among the population has slowed down
• The access to existing public health services for drug users and potential drug users (young people, sex workers, etc.) has been increased through the establishment of Information Services, one in each country
